I like this picture because it's one of the only ones we have with her face uncovered. We can't use the flash when she doesn't have her goggles on. She has her snugglie blocking some of the light from her eyes.








She's got a pretty strong grip for such a little baby.
























I just like this picture because of her tiny hand.















This is close-up of her face. I know you can't see much with the goggles, tape and paste. I think it's worth it just to see her tiny nose. She's wearing a hat knitted by her grandma. Notice how she's color coordinated :-)





Here Katie is sucking on her pacifier. She can do this with her feeding tube and breathing tubes in. I'm not sure how she manages it. When we put her hand up to it, she holds onto the pacifier.






Once again we arrived to bad news. Overnight, Katie had to be put on 100% oxygen. Over the course of the day, they were able to wean her down to about 50% oxygen. The other big medical event of the day was that they removed her arterial line in her tummy and put a new arterial line in her arm. She now has a PICC line and arterial line in her right arm and an IV in her left arm. It's hard to look at. Both of her arms are covered in tape, tubes and ports. I have to keep telling myself that getting her tummy lines out is a step forward and having all that stuff in her arms is what she needs. On the up side, her belly button will be able to heal up now.



Up until today, we had been waiting for Katie to have her first BM. I was expecting a little smudge (after all, how much can a baby that's just over 1 lb poop?). Well, I went to change her diaper, and it was loaded. That poopy diaper was probably the happiest time of the day. Hopefully, now that she's passing stool, she won't need the bili light as often. It's also good b/c it means that system is working.
