This is Kevin's ring. It used to fit all the way up her arm. We had a request to see the ring again for a size comparison.

This is how Katie looks when she's in her crib now. She stays on an incline to try to prevent any acid reflux that may irritate her throat (and to try to keep her from spitting up so much). She gets strapped in so she won't roll off.
Katie loves being held. She's started putting herself in this position when I hold her on my chest. I thought it was cute.

We're still waiting. We've talked to 3 different doctors and all 3 have given us different opinions. The ENT initially wanted to do another scope to find out exactly what her airway looks like, and probably end up doing the anterior cricoid split surgery. Katie's main neonatologist wants to take a more conservative approach--just wait and see if she grows out of it. He's worried that if we put a scope down her airway not, it will further irritate it, and we wouldn't learn a whole lot from it. (We already know she has swelling and scar tissue.) Another neonatologist wants to do a swallow study (to see if the swallowing action is irritating the area), then proceed with bottle feeding. He's not worried if she continues to have stridor even after she goes home, as long as it's not stressing her (in other words, as long as she can keep her sats up, and gain weight). After everybody talked to everybody else, we are going to wait a week (until she's off this last round of steroids), then do a swallow study. After another week, they will re-evaluate her to see if her airway has improved any. Hopefully, we'll be back to nipple feeding, and the stidor will be decreased. If she's still having problems, we'll have to look at other options.

After talking to the ENT on Monday, we felt like the surgery would fix the problem. The neonatologists today said that the surgery doesn't work a lot of the time, and could potentially do more harm than good. I still don't really know what to think. I hate to think that we could wait all this time, and still end up having to go through a procedure. At the same time, I don't want to rush into surgery and have it not work.
