Here is how Katie looks without anything stuck to her face! Today is the first day I've ever seen her like this. (They removed the canulas this morning and took out the feeding tube for the swallow study.)

We got good news from the swallow study this morning. They fed her part of a bottle with some barium mixed in, then put her under a real-time x-ray. They found that she is able to swallow correctly, the milk goes down the right tube, and stays down as long as she is sitting up. That means she's not in danger of aspirating milk into her lungs when she's eating from a bottle. She's back to getting 2 bottles per day. We still think a lot of the spitting up problem is from her swallowing a lot of air. To try to help this, they suggested I start feeding her with Dr. Brown bottles. (They're a type of bottle that is supposed to reduce air in the belly.) So, tomorrrow, we'll try that. She still has the stridor sound when she's eating or mad, but as long as it's not causing her a lot of stress, we'll go along with it. They also took off her nasal canulas this morning, and she has done well so far w/o any oxygen!
