Pictures!

This is the first time Katie was swaddled. You might be able to tell that she almost has her right arm worked free. One of her nurses made the hat with a piece of gauze.

She sometimes sleeps with her froggie. The strap is over her arm, but she's hugging the frog. In this picture, she has a Neobar on. It holds her breathing tube in place. Before, it had to be taped to her upper lip, but she's gotten big enough for the Neobar to fit.

One of our nurses made this sign for Katie. That's her little hand making the "hook 'em" sign.

This is a picture from one of the times they removed her breathing tube. Her cheeks are red from the tape that was holding the breathing tube in place. The other tube is her feeding tube.

Katie finally weighs 3 pounds! That's really the only news I have to report. She started getting vitamins today, and her feedings are up to 29 cc every 3 hours. The physical and occupational therapists are going to come sometime this week to start working with her. I'm still not totally clear on what they're going to do. Believe me, she can move just fine. I'm told they will start working on her "range of motion".

I held her swaddled for the first time on Friday. She did NOT like it at all. When I kangaroo with her (skin-to-skin holding), she likes to have both arms and both legs stretched out while she's laying on my chest. When she's in the isolette, it's the same--both arms and legs are stretched out. The only other way she likes to be is on her tummy. When she was bundled up, she fought the blanket the whole time, and was not a happy baby at all.
