Katie has done well so far over the weekend. Her oxygen levels on the vent. are low and she's taking most of the breaths by herself. We're going to try C-pap again this coming week. Hopefully, she's gotten strong enough this week to be able to take all of her breaths by herself without getting worn out.
I keep thinking this morning how I wish everything were "normal"; in other words, how I wish Katie weren't in the hospital. Kevin is outside mowing and I've been inside cleaning. I should be waddling around 7 months pregnant or taking care of my baby. I know the day will come when we can have a lazy weekend without going up to the hospital, but I wish it would hurry.
I think I had not realized how much I miss being pregnant. It seems like I've seen pregnant women everywhere I go lately. I hate to admit it, but I feel jealous of them--they have their baby right there with them, and can feel it move around still. I packed up my few maternity clothes this morning, since I won't be needing them again. The pack-rat in me can't get rid of them yet, maybe the next time I get in a cleaning mode I'll send them to Good Will. We had always talked about having 2 kids, but I don't want to go through the NICU again. (There's a high risk for the same problems with another pregnancy.) Maybe if a few years we'll get baby fever and try again, but I doubt it.
