This is what CPAP looks like. It looks uncomfortable, but she seems to have gotten used to it. She's sitting in her bouncy chair for the first time. She looks tiny in it! See what I mean about her hair? She has almost blonde hair growing in where the dark hair fell out. The rest of the dark hair is coming out in patches.
Katie had another pretty good day today. She gained more weight- she's up to 5 pounds 6 ounces. She had an eye exam today. The ROP in her left eye is a little worse, and her right eye is about the same. The good news is that her eyes are just about developed, and her left eye isn't bad enough to do surgery. She'll have another exam in 2 weeks.
She was very calm and relaxed today. She slept a lot, which is good b/c it will help her grow more. She also had a brain sonogram today. We should know tomorrow how that goes. The nurse said that if she had any brain bleeds, we'd likely have noticed something by now.
I'm trying every stain remover I can find to try to get spots out of Katie's clothes. What has worked the best so far is soaking her clothes in Clorox 2 overnight. Nearly everytime she gets vitamins, she spits them up. They smell horrible. One of our nurses said she tasted some of her daughter's vitamins when she was a baby, and they taste as bad as they smell.
