Katie had an OT session this afternoon. It wasn't really planned, but it worked out anyhow. She is pulling up to her knees more and more. We're just trying to keep her knees together more. Right now, she'll pull up, then her legs will splay apart. The therapist said she's weak overall and has poor balance. She's also a little concerned that Katie keeps her left hand in a fist a lot. I hadn't really noticed this, but she said she has seen it everytime she's seen Katie. It's kind of frustrating and hard to hear that your baby does anything poorly or is weak in anything, especially when it's not her fault. I guess it's a good thing, though, to have a professional set of eyes to help monitor her. I really don't know what a "normal" baby does, or how a "normal" baby acts. Katie is my normal.

We still haven't started working on the feeding issues. The OT wants to gain Katie's trust before she starts working in her mouth.

Grandma babysat tonight while I went to Open House at school. Everything was fine until Katie made her lap around the house and realized I wasn't there anymore. Grandma reported that she was pretty fussy after that.

I've got some more random stuff I've been meaning to post, but it'll have to wait. I guess the time change is catching up with me...I'm tired!!! I'll do better tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone who still checks in on Katie!

  1. Jessie,

I looked at the pictures on the blog site and I don't see a single one with Katie clenching that fist so don't get too concerned over it. Katie is doing things in her own good time. The therapist is there to help and that's a good thing. I loved the March of Dimes clip.

    Love, Dad
