Katie and her grandpa at the pumpkin patch...Katie was more interested in watching passing traffic than looking at the camera.
A Katie-sized pumpkin! (Yes, she has her own baby pumpkin on the porch!)This morning, we went for Katie's dietitian consult. It went pretty well. As long as Katie's pediatrician agrees, the plan is to give Katie 26 cal. formula, and continue with the cereal and baby food. The dietitian plotted Katie on several different growth charts. She is not on a chart for her actual age (we knew that already), she's barely on the growth chart for her adjusted age, and on the "very low birthweight" chart, she's in the 25th percentile. A lot of it seems to depend which chart they use. The important thing is that she's healthy. She basically has the tummy size of a 3-month-old, but is burning and requiring the calories of an almost 7-month-old. If she doesn't tolerate the 26 cal. formula, we have some other choices to try, but simply mixing the formula a little more concentrated is the simplest. At this point, I don't think she will be diagnosed as "failure to thrive"....which is basically when they don't grow and develop much. (Her dr. was trying to make sure we don't get close to that.)
On the way home, we stopped at a pumpkin patch. She was VERY tired at this point, but I still like the pictures. When she's more rested, I'm going to take some more pumpkin pictures at home. Check back this weekend!

Those are so sweet. Isn't it great that her grandfather is so attached?
