Here are Katie's latests happenings:
-She lets me know when she's pooped. She gets an urgent look on her face and says "Pup, pup, pup, pup!"
-She's trying to learn how to wink, only she blinks both eyes very deliberately. (Kevin says she looks like I do when I try to wink. I can't wink or close one eye to shoot with, either.)
-She has taken herself off of formula. She won't have anything to do with it in any form. I don't know if she smells it or what, but she'll knock the cup or bottle out of my hands. I'm pushing Pediasure and high calorie foods even more now.
-She has overcome her fear of her Power Wheels bus. In fact, she now tries to drive it while standing on the seat, and bails out while it's still moving.
-I think we're hitting the Terrible 2's Tantrums early. If something doesn't go her way, she'll flop on the floor with both arms and both legs flailing, while screaming. They're usually pretty short, and almost funny sometimes. Of course, I know it won't be funny out in public.
I've been pretty stressed out this week. I think of all the time I'm missing with Katie. Now on school days, she wakes up crabby (not a morning person like her Mom), we get dressed and eat, I drop her off, then pick her up and she's usually tired, we go home and I fix dinner, clean up, give her a bath, then try to get her down for the night. We do have some play time, but not like during the summer. At the same time, there's not really an alternative, and that frustrates me terribly. I know lots of other mothers have it a lot worse than I do, but it still stinks. Between school stress and guilt, my stomach is in a constant knot. Only 174 school days left.
