Thank goodness the weekend is here! The lack of sleep is catching up to me this week. Katie is still doing well. I'll have some new pictures to post after I make it to WalMart to get another battery for the camera.

We changed formula (again). This time, we're on lactose-free formula, and it has made a world of difference. She hasn't thrown up near as much as she was before. Even with the reflux med., she would fuss during feeding, throw up a lot and was very gassy. On the new formula, I've laid off the reflux medicine, and so far we still haven't had problems. She still spits up and has some gas, but all babies do. If anybody knows anybody else who is feeding a baby formula, I've got several cans of freebie formula that we can't use. (I signed up for freebies while we were in the hospital, and they've mailed several different kinds, but of course, none of the kind we use.) Anyhow, let me know if anyone can use it. I plan to take the rest of it to the women's shelter otherwise.

My "strong willed" baby has decided she no longer likes to lay down during the day. She would rather sit up. I'm not complaining, I'm glad she's growing and developing. The only thing is, her stamina hasn't quite caught up to how long she wants to sit up for. She slides down or tips over, then gets mad.

I think we might ventrue out to the ball game tonight. I'm trying to get out and about while we can, before cold and flu season hits. I think it's important to take her places, so she can start to know what's out there. (And so she doesn't act like those heathen children you see running around resturants and stores.) I know I'm rambling all over the place, but when she was in the hospital, I thought there was NO WAY I would ever spank her. Now, however, after seeing other children out in public, she WILL get a spanking if she needs it. I'd rather swat her bottom than have her act like some of the kids I've noticed lately.

We've got another batch of doctor appointments coming up at the end of the month. I kind of want the developmental appointment to hurry up and get here. I don't know how far she should be and if I need to be doing different exercises with her. I read preemie magazines and look at preemie sites, but it's hard to even tell what stages she should be at. She's not as mature as a term 6-month-old, but I think she's more developed than a 2-month-old.

Each day I realize how lucky we are. Sometimes, I look at other micro preemie blogs, and some of the kids have tons of problems and issues. We have to be careful, but really don't have any daunting medical issues. As far as the developmental stuff goes, I just keep high expectations for her. I know we could run into delays, but I always hear Reba's voice saying "They'll do what you expect them to." (That was from my first year teaching, and it's true.)

I know this entry rambled, but I think it's because I've been meaning to post all week, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm sure I've forgotten something, but I'll just post it later when I remember it!
