Blogger Layouts

I apologize for being a bad blogger lately. We're still here and everything is fine. Plenty has happened that I meant to blog about, but for some reason, I'm not very motivated to sit down at the computer lately. It's probably because I have such a long list of things I need to be doing on the computer to get ready for school. Laying on the floor and playing with Katie always sounds like the better choice.

Katie is still battling a stuffy nose and teething, which makes for a big snotty, slobbery, and often cranky mess. We're attending a family reunion this weekend, and I'm a little nervous about traveling with a cranky baby. It could be a long weekend.

Earlier, we were in Katie's bedroom playing and she cracked me up. I've been wiping her nose nonstop with tissues, paper towels, burp cloths, etc. She has a couple of bandanas that we got at the March for Babies this year. She grabbed one, came over to me and started wiping my nose with it, just like I wipe hers! (She's really into imitating right now.) If only she would wipe her own nose with a tissue! Something else she's done lately is giving hugs. She'll wrap her arms around you, lay her head down and pat you with her hand. At first, I wondered where the patting thing came from, but then I realized that we pat her back a lot when we hold or hug her.

She's able to walk now with us holding just one hand now. I think she could walk on her own if she'd just let go. I don't understand why she will climb anything, not matter how high, and is not afraid to fall off, but she's not comfortable to let go and walk.

I'm off to try to persuade a tired baby to go to sleep. (That means she's tired and cranky, but doesn't want to go to sleep. Heaven forbid she should miss anything.)

  1. That is so cute how she will take a tissue and will wipe your nose with it. That is cool that she will give people hugs and pats them on the back.
